Overview
ErgSwap ("the App") is developed and published by Possisoft ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of ErgSwap on iPhone.
The short version: ErgSwap is a local, offline calculator. It does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data. There is no account and no sign-in, and everything the App remembers, meaning your equipment list, presets, and preferences, is stored on your iPhone and stays there. The one exception is optional, anonymous usage statistics, which tell us which features get used. They contain nothing about you or your workouts, and you can turn them off with a single tap in Settings. Details are in the Analytics section below.

Data We Collect
ErgSwap does not collect any personal information, and does not require an account or sign-in to function. The only data that ever leaves your device is optional, anonymous usage statistics, described in the Analytics section below.
What ErgSwap Stores on Your Device
The App remembers your settings so you do not have to enter them each time. This information is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard UserDefaults system. It is not collection: we never receive it, and it never leaves your device except as part of standard iOS system backups (iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup), which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
- Which cardio equipment you have marked as available in your gym
- Your saved distance and calorie presets
- Your conversion preferences, meaning scaled or flat ratios and which chart column to read
- App settings such as your chosen appearance, whether you have completed onboarding, and whether you have turned usage statistics off
The conversions themselves are calculated on your device from charts built into the App, which is why ErgSwap works with no signal and in airplane mode.
Data We Do Not Collect
ErgSwap does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
- Any account or user identifier, because the App has no accounts
- Your location, precise or coarse
- Health or fitness data. ErgSwap does not read from or write to Apple Health, and the workouts you convert are not recorded or transmitted anywhere
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or any advertising data
- Contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, or any other device data
- Purchase history, since the App has no in-app purchases
- Crash reports, unless you have opted in to sharing them with developers in iOS's own settings
We do collect anonymous, non-personal usage statistics unless you opt out. The Analytics section says exactly what that includes.
Analytics
ErgSwap collects anonymous usage statistics to understand which features are used and to improve the App. This is limited to product-interaction events, for example that a machine was selected, a quick-entry preset was tapped, or Settings was opened, along with basic anonymous technical details such as app version, device model, iOS version, and country or region. It also includes an anonymous identifier that is not tied to your name, email, Apple ID, or any account, because the App has none.
We do not collect the distances or calories you enter, the workouts you convert, your custom preset values, or any personal data. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not share data with data brokers.
These statistics are processed on our behalf by TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), an analytics provider built for privacy and operating under the EU's GDPR. TelemetryDeck is designed so the data it receives is not personally identifiable and cannot be traced back to you. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy for details.
Analytics are on by default and entirely optional. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Send Usage Stats. Turning them off sends one final anonymous signal so we can count how many people opt out, and nothing after that: with usage stats off, the App makes no further analytics requests, on that launch or any later one.
Separately, Apple may collect aggregated, anonymous App Store analytics (such as download counts and crash statistics) as described in Apple's Developer Program License Agreement. We have no access to any personally identifiable information through this mechanism.
Tracking
ErgSwap does not track you. We do not link any data to your identity, and we do not share any data with data brokers, advertising networks, or any other third party for advertising or measurement purposes. The App does not follow you across other apps or websites.
That is what Apple means by "tracking" in its App Tracking Transparency framework. The anonymous usage statistics described above are not tracking under that definition, so the App never asks for permission to track, and you will not see that prompt.
Third-Party Services
ErgSwap does not integrate with any advertising network, attribution service, crash reporting service, or data broker. It uses one third-party service: TelemetryDeck, for the anonymous analytics described in the Analytics section, subject to TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.
Settings also contains a link to PlatePal, another app from Possisoft. Tapping it opens the App Store; nothing about you is sent, and Apple's own App Store analytics, described above, are the only record that the link was followed.
In-App Purchases
ErgSwap does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. If paid features are added in a future version, all purchase transactions would be processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit, and Possisoft would never receive, process, or store your payment information. This policy will be updated before any such feature ships.
iCloud and Device Sync
ErgSwap does not use iCloud, CloudKit, or any other cloud sync service. Your equipment list, presets, and preferences live on the one device and are not synced between devices. (The optional, anonymous analytics described above are not personal data and are not synced to any account.) If sync is added in a future version, this policy will be updated before the feature ships.
Children's Privacy
ErgSwap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included; the anonymous usage statistics described above cannot identify a person of any age. Data Retention and Deletion
The settings stored on your device are removed when you delete the App from your iPhone, which permanently erases your equipment list, presets, and preferences. The anonymous usage statistics cannot be connected to you, so there is nothing for us to look up or delete on request; turning them off in Settings stops any further collection.
Your Privacy Rights
Privacy laws including the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar regimes give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information a company holds about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.
We do not collect or process personal information through ErgSwap, so we hold nothing to disclose, correct, delete, or port, and we have never sold or shared personal information. The anonymous usage statistics are not personal information and cannot be tied to you. You are welcome to contact us at hello@possisoft.com with any question about this, and we will respond.
Security
ErgSwap transmits no personal data. The anonymous usage statistics it sends (when enabled) travel over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The settings stored on your device are protected by iOS's built-in app sandboxing and by your device's own security features such as your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
App Store Privacy Details
ErgSwap's App Store listing declares Usage Data → Product Interaction in Apple's App Privacy section, marked as collected but not linked to you and not used to track you. That declaration matches this policy: the App collects anonymous usage statistics and nothing else.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a future version of the App collects anything beyond what is described here, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that version ships. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
